Donald Trump certainly was not the first man to invent the ego-filled need to pursue multiple women. Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor is the story of a plump knight, Sir John Falstaff, who attempts to seduce two uninterested married women and thereby gain access to their husbands’ wealth. However, these women have a few tricks up their sleeves to humiliate Falstaff and frustrate his greed. To kick off the start of summer, head over to the Campbell Community Center June 10 for a performance of The Merry Wives of Windsor, courtesy of Free Shakespeare in the Park. Later this summer, opening Aug. 6, Free Shakespeare in the Park presents Love’s Labour’s Lost. Photo is by Corrina Welding and features Julie More as Touchstone from last year’s production of As You Like It.

The county fair is a childhood staple — farm animals, Ferris wheels, fair food — and this year’s Lane County Fair, July 20-24, is no exception. We’re not sure if there will be deep-fried butter, but there’s bound to be something deep fried. While you munch on that heart attack on a stick, you can rock out to “Rock Lobster,” “Love Shack” and other staples of New Wave party band The B-52s on July 22. Photo by Joseph Cultice.

What The Festival — the self-described “boutique” music fest — is coming to an area roughly 90 miles east of Portland. It’ll be worth the drive, no worries. Plus, it’s got shuttle resources and ride shares. Cutting to the chase, be ready to dance. Headliners include Thievery Corporation (super upbeat DJ) and Bonobo (kind of big-band DJ electronica) — two bands that’ll get your toes tappin’ and your heart racing. If you’re into jazz-funk and salad greens, WTF has that covered with Boston-based band Lettuce. The overall line up is a big ol’ mash up of jazz, funk, electronic and DJ sets, so if you’re in the mood to move, this festival is right up your alley. WTF runs June 17-20; full line-up (plus directions) at whatthefestival.com.
