Uber, a Deer and Blek

Today in Eugene's city news

As you may have seen earlier this morning, a mural by Blek Le Rat, associated with Eugene’s 20×21 mural project was painted over. But that’s not the only breaking news in Eugene today.

The Eugene Police Department reports that an animal welfare officer saved “Bambi” from the fence the fawn was stuck in, and it’s all filmed on bodycam (we predict this heartwarmer will be all over the local Sinclair TV stations tonight).

Finally, Uber returns to Eugene on Thursday, Sept. 6, with Mayor Lucy Vinis taking the “ceremonial first ride,” according to a press release from the Technology Association of Oregon, which lobbied heavily for the app-based ride share company’s return.

You can watch Matt Sayre of TAO give Vinis a ride, in what we assume will be an Arcimoto electric vehicle since the event takes place at the manufacturing plant, 10 am, Sept. 6, 2034 W 2nd Avenue in Eugene.
