Kieran Walsh Dropping Out?

Kieran Walsh, a candidate for Lane County commissioner running against incumbent Pete Sorenson, has announced a news conference for 10 am Thursday at the Lane County Elections office, 275 W. 10th Ave. in Eugene. He says he will have “an announcement concerning his campaign.”

Joining Walsh will join with another candidate in the same race, Andy Stahl, along with a number of local legislators to discuss the importance of the county commission race.

“All of us in attendance tomorrow have a common goal,” he says in his announcement, “to restore integrity and openness to the County Commission as we work through these difficult times. … My announcement tomorrow will ensure that a single strong voice for Lane County will be on the ballot opposing Commissioner Sorenson.”

“This press conference promises to be one of the most dynamic election press conference seen in Lane County in recent memory,” he wrote. “You do not want to be scooped on this!”

Stahl has not given any indication that he is dropping out, so we assume Walsh is withdrawing.
