Love, Loss and a Little Bit More

Storm Kennedy and her crew are back with another production of Love, Loss and What I Wore (see “Closet Confession,” EW 2/28). This quirky, insightful play is written by the magical sisters Delia and Nora Ephron and based off the book by Ilene Beckerman. The play looks at the stories of women’s lives through their wardrobes.

After a brief but wildly successful run at the Majestic Theatre in Corvallis last March, the cast began looking for other performance venues immediately upon closing. Kennedy approached Kirk Boyd of the Wildish Theater in Springfield, which had only one weekend available. Director Leigh Matthews Bock sent out a quick text to the other actresses and the swift response of “Yes!” came from every actress in the cast.

Kennedy noted that with this second chance at Love, Loss and What I Wore, “I know my character better; the stories have become more poignant.”

Beckerman’s story of coming of age, losing in love and finding independence is as beautiful and fleeting as the perfect summer ensemble. So dress up and step out for an evening to remember.

Love Loss and What I Wore runs June 28-30 at the Wildish Theater; $12.
