The 9th Northwest World Reggae Festival July 26-28 in Marcola is a great hub to nab arts and crafts while listening to reggae favorites like Prezident Brown, Etana and local groovers Sol Seed.

The “Park Your Art Here” contest — presented by ETHOS magazine, Epark Eugene, Copic Marker and Ninkasi — unveiled this year’s winner during the Sunday Streets event July 21. Canadian Cindy Chen’s pastel illustration of a sort of stairway to heaven will grace the corner of the Parcade (8th and Willamette) for the next year.

UO career instructor in the Department of Art Mike Bray is racking up awards. The recipient of an Oregon Arts Commission fellowship and the Joan Shipley Award has now been named the Hallie Ford Fellow by the Ford Family Foundation. The title comes with an award of $25,000 for Bray to continue his conceptual, multimedia installations that comment on pop culture.
