As we go to press this week, we hear that a public memorial service has been planned for Lady Jangchup Palmo, affectionately known as “Amala” and the person primarily responsible for bring the Dalai Lama to Eugene in May 2013. She died on Sept. 19 and the service will be from 3 to 5 pm Sunday, Oct. 5, at the Raggozino Performance Hall, Building 6, on the LCC main campus.
