Watching the destruction of the East and West grandstands at Hayward Field, I can’t help but ask the question: How much of that material is good enough to be recycled and utilized?

For example: How many tiny homes could have been built with salvaged material from the stands, if it could have been carefully dismantled, the salvageable lumber reused and the larger timbers sawn to smaller dimensions and utilized?

Why simply dump it in the landfill, when it could be reused?
