I’m so appalled by your tasteless attempt at satire with Bob Keefer’s “PERS Death Squads” piece (EW 3/31) that I don’t even know where to begin.

I like April Fool’s humor. And I get that PERS is a sensitive subject for some, and it’s a topic at which you may want to take a jab. But making a joke about infecting people with COVID-19? Using the term “death squads”? Really? It’s not even low-hanging fruit, it’s just plain gross, especially with all that is going on in the world right now.
