Time For Action Before It’s Too Late

My hat’s off to Saint John Hunt (“The Rape of Oregon,” Letters 4/7). Thank you for your facts and awareness of something we who have been here a while have turned a blind eye to. I agree completely with what you’re saying and have challenged the system in my own way which is ignored by the timber barons that seem to make the rules in their favor.

It’s like the yellow smog that blankets Eugene on still days. We’re used to it. It’s hurting us — all of us and our four-footed friends. Sometimes I think we’re a bunch of cowards (with some exceptions, of course). We need to restore and protect this place we call home before it’s too late! We need to use our voices — all our voices, to speak for the trees, the air and the water.
