National Dance Week in Eugene

It’s time to scrape off the pandemic rust and work out the kinks to those joints in preparation for National Dance Week, and the Cultural Services Division for Eugene has you covered. Starting April 22 with the “Downtown Dances in the Round” at the Park Blocks, Eugene’s celebration of National Dance Week includes morning Tai Chi workshops and weekday lunchtime performances at Kesey Square as well as “Healthy Moves Workshops” April 25 through 29 also at the Park Blocks. Additionally, on April 26, there’s a Professional Development/Careers in Dance class at Xcape Dance as well as screenings of the movies Uprooted on April 26 and Best of the Northwest April 27 at Broadway Metro. It is the opportunity to learn and begin the process of getting back into physical shape. Some of us can use that.

Eugene Cultural Services Division helps celebrate National Dance Week — April 22 through 29 — with a series of outdoor events downtown, an indoor class and two movie screenings. All are FREE. Complete listings for the week can be found in the “What’s Happening” section of the April 21 issue of Eugene Weekly or at Eugene-or.gov/culturalservices
