Art Opening: “Dead Loss” – Lillian Almeida & Maddison Colvin

March 31 • 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

Eugene Contemporary Art presents “Dead Loss” an exhibition of new works by artists Lillian Almeida and Maddison Colvin at Slightly Coffee (545 East 8th Ave), March 31st through April 26th, with an opening reception 6-9pm on Saturday, March 31st. This exhibition is part of Eugene Contemporary Art’s 2018 exhibition series.

Dead Loss
noun:

  • a venture or situation that produces no profit whatsoever
  • a person or thing that is completely useless

These works by Maddison Colvin and Lillian Almeida converse about ideas of futility and success. At life junctures when other ways of moving forward artistically were not available, both artists experienced compulsive, subconsciously driven relationships with materials at hand, leading to these bodies of work.

Eugene Contemporary Art (ECA): The mission of ECA is to provide emerging, contemporary artists with opportunities for their work to be seen by the public. We do this through producing our own exhibitions and pop-up shows, as well as highlighting local, contemporary art events we find interesting.
