No Fracked Gas Comments Writing Workshop

April 5 • 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

The next Dept of State Lands (DSL) Board meeting provides an opportunity for Oregonians who oppose fracked gas to share their concerns with Governor Brown directly. At the beginning of each meeting, the DSL Board (Governor Brown, Secretary Dennis Richardson and Treasurer Tobias Reed) hear comments from the public on issues related to their responsibilities. While the DSL Board has thus far declined to put the Jordan Cove project on their official agenda, we are making them aware of our concerns by showing up to offer comments about why we oppose the project. This workshop will cover how to write strategic and convincing public comments. We will explore the elements of persuasive writing, important talking points regarding the proposed Pacific Connector Pipeline and Jordan Cove Export Terminal, and specific asks for Governor Brown and the DSL Board. After discussion, we will write our comments together and, if time allows, practice delivering them!

If you are not able to attend this meeting but would like to send messages to the DSL Board members, here is the online contact info:
