March 7 • 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
• Free
It was just over two years ago that Donald Trump was considered an outsider in the Republican Party. Now, his approval rating among Republican voters hovers around 90 percent. In the next Quack Chats Pub Talk, UO political scientist Joe Lowndes will discuss Trump’s unexpected rise within the Republican Party and trace the recent history of racial nationalism in US politics, from the presidential campaign of Alabama governor George Wallace in 1968 to Pat Buchanan in 1992 to Trumpism today.
