Sunday Bloody Sunday! Bloody Knives, Tearful Moon, We are Parasols, & Don Haugen
April 8 • 9:00 pm• $5
bloody knives from Austin, TX “Bloody Knives has been best described as nightmare dream-rock and future punk, their sound existing at the intersection between industrial, shoegaze, post punk, drum and bass, ambient, and electronica. Their live show is a visceral and surreal experience, with ethereal beauty wrapped in dense filth, tendrils of sharp feedback reaching through the static fog.”
Tearful Moon from Houston, TX “A journey full of shame, sins, death, spirituality, sex, sorrow, heartache, loss, love, hope, beauty, and the whole human experience of walking through darkness, searching for the light. Hypnotic and melancholy, you hear glimpses of many influences, and yet it’s hard to pinpoint all of them. You might want to dance or you might want to just drift off into a trance.”
We Are Parasols from Portland, OR “A throbbing beat. Machines on march. A guitar can be a drill or sing like an angel. A voice like a computer caught in a human throat. A whisper. A howl. Synthesizers; sometimes smooth and glassy, sometimes jagged and bloody. A walk on the shore can easily turn into an apocalyptic landscape depending on your perception.”
Don Haugen from Eugene, OR “A composer, sound experimenter, visual artist, and professional graphic designer based
in Eugene, Oregon, USA. Since the late 1980’s started working with cassette tapes, sine oscillators, mixer feedback, contact mics and more. Haugen’s current work focuses on home built electronics and re-purposed vintage test instruments to create sonic texture-scapes. Haugen’s compositions range from
drone and noise pieces.”
