Grab your flashlights because arts writer and photographer Bob Keefer is leading a flashlight-guided Second Friday Art Walk in Springfield from 5:30 to 7:30 pm Friday, Nov. 8, beginning at the City Hall Gallery, 225 5th St. On the crawl, be sure to pop into Springfield Museum for a show by the Oregon Fiber Artists; photographs of ancient ruins inspire many of the fiber art pieces.
Strap on your goggles, tighten your bustle and fasten your jet pack because the New Zone Gallery is transforming into a Wild West-meets-Victorian wonderland for the “Life in the Age of Steampunk” exhibit running Nov. 9-16, featuring local artists Judd Turner, Steve La Riccia and Joe Mross. The fantasy will culminate with a gala extravaganza 7 pm Nov. 16 with music by Mood Area 52 and the Whiskey Chasers; period-inspired attire is highly encouraged.
There’s no better time to twirl around in the Swiss Alps than now. The Majestic Theatre in Corvallis is putting on a production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The Sound of Music Nov. 7-23.
