The track and field World Athletics Championship is coming to Eugene. What would happen if Eugene said it did not want Russian athletes to compete here? Soccer has said it. FIFA has thrown Russia out of the World Cup. The International Ice Hockey Federation has said it by refusing Russian teams entry into all international competition. There is even talk that the Special Olympics will bar Russian athletes.
What about it, Eugene? You wanted the world stage. What are you going to do with it?
