OPENING NIGHTS
Man of La Mancha
Opens at the Very Little Theatre Friday, March 23. Don’t your eyes start tearing at the very thought of Don Quixote in this musical? As played in this musical-within-a-play, and of course as he lives in the splendid novel, Quixote embodies everything idealistic, misguided, anguished, loving and all too human. And isn’t the showstopping “Impossible Dream” at the heart of each human endeavor? Well, Eugene audiences think so; it’s selling out quickly, so get your tix soon! Show dates are March 23-24 & 29-31 and April 1 & 5-7. Call 344-7751 for tix.
Frozen
Opens at the Lord Leebrick Theatre Friday, March 23. Another real lighthearted offering from the Leebrick, Frozen, by the controversial but highly touted Bryony Lavery, showcases the entwined agonies of a murderer, his young victim’s mother and his therapist as each deals with the act and its aftermath. As good dramas must, Frozen gets to the thick of human pain and redemption. With Storm Kennedy, Ellen Crace and the often brilliant Dan Pegoda, this show should tear us apart — and put us back together. Show dates are March 23-24 & 29-31 and April 1, 5-7 & 12-14. Call 465-1506 or go to www.lordleebrick.com for tix.
