Don’t miss: The Exiled In Eugene Future Musicians Concert Series (7/20, Luckey’s), the frenetic, high-stepping punk grass of Water Tower (7/20, Sam Bond’s), the incredibly uplifting grooves of local band Kokobola (7/21, Cozmic) and a free concert by Americana crooner Rebekah Pulley (7/23, Axe & Fiddle).
Break out those legwarmers because The Davis Restaurant & Bar takes over ’80s night 10 pm Thursday, July 18, after the closure of John Henry’s.
Loosen up your corset and set down your top hat because there’s music to be heard and dances to be squared at Cottage Grove’s Bohemia Mining Days. The Joanne Broh Band kicks off Friday night (7/19) with their high energy rock ’n’ roll. Lead singer Joanne Broh’s voice has made a name for itself with its power and soul, and she’s backed by three of the finest Delta blues musicians (Jim Badalich, Dan E. Miller and Jerry Zybach) this side of the Mississippi.
Saturday (7/20) at Bohemia the choir group Breaking the Sound Barrier, composed of deaf and hard-of-hearing members, showcases some of music’s magic. The group takes time in between songs to answer questions and share stories with the audience as well as teach a few sign words. Later in the day, the Conjugal Visitors will play their mountain dance music, and closing out the night is Willamette Valley’s very own classic rock and blues group Windy Ridge.
