• Lane Transit District is planning new routes and taking public input from 3 to 5 pm Thursday, Feb. 12, at the LTD Customer Service Center lobby at 10th and Willamette. Comments can also be made through a survey online at ltd.org. LTD Board public hearings are coming up at 5:30 pm March 18 and 5:30 pm April 6 at the Eugene Public Library.
• The Dream Eugene Project will be discussed at a free gathering from 6 to 9 pm Thursday, Feb. 12, at the McNail-Riley House, 601 W. 13th Ave. Sponsored by the Pachamama Alliance to “envision and work for a just and sustainable world.”
• A free talk on “Amazon Creek: History, Biology and Management” will be at 7 pm Thursday, Feb. 12, at the Good Samaritan Center, 3500 Hilyard St. Speaker will be Trevor Taylor, city of Eugene supervisor of natural areas restoration. Dessert potluck begins at 6:30 pm.
• A rally in support of the divestiture movement will be from 3 to 4 pm Friday, Feb. 13, at Johnson Hall on the UO campus. Students and community supporters will rally for UO fossil fuel divestment. The event is part of Global Divestment Days with 300 gatherings around the world calling on universities, religious organizations and government institutions to divest from carbon-polluting industries. Speakers will include Kaia Hazard of the UO’s Climate Justice League, Mayor Kitty Piercy, the Rev. Melanie Oommen from First Congregational UCC and Patty Hine, co-founder and activist from 350 Eugene.
• Green Drinks, the monthly gathering of progressives in Lane County, will be from 5 to 7 pm Friday, Feb. 13, at World Café, 449 Blair Blvd.
• The acclaimed satirical film Dear White People is showing at the David Minor Theater through Saturday, Feb. 14, and half the ticket price will go to benefit the local NAACP and its ACT-SO program, but a printed flyer must be presented.
