• Wolf Night: A benefit for Cascadia Wildlands’ work to restore wolves in the Cascades, will begin at 9 pm Friday, May 15, at Luckey’s Club, 933 Olive St. Suggested donation of $5 to $500.
• May is National Mental Health Month and a gathering and protest are being planned for 2 pm Saturday, May 16, at the Wayne Morse Free Speech Plaza at the corner of 8th and Oak, across from Saturday Market. Speakers will talk about electroshock and other mental health issues. They include Fred Abbe, Chuck Areford, Adrienne Bovee, Chrissy Persol, David Rogers and David Oaks. • The ACLU’s “Civil Conversation” series presents a discussion led by Greg Hazarabedian on the use of police body cameras to promote transparency and provide valuable evidence. Policies that govern the use of body cameras could make this either a useful tool or an invasion of privacy. Come hear about the issues and participate in the discussion from 5:30 to 5:45 pm Monday, May 18, at the Eugene Public Library Bascom Room. Free and open to the public. Food and drinks allowed.
