Chef Alex Moon announced on Dec. 9 that she has found a home for her gluten-free restaurant, Sundial Cafe. In the months following her successful Kickstarter campaign in March, raising $12,081 to fund the project, Moon has searched far and wide for a suitable place to operate her restaurant.
Moon has 20 years of restaurant experience, having worked at Belly Taqueria and Morning Glory Cafe. As she searched for her own space, she posted her delectable culinary creations on Sundial Cafe's Facebook page, garnering lots of likes and dishing out tantalizing glimpses of the restuarant to come.
Moon writes on the restaurant's Faceook page: "Sundial Cafe officially has a home on 24th and Hilyard. We will be sharing the building that also houses Humble Bagel. Rest assured that all walls have been sealed off, we have a separate filtration system in place to protect those with celiac disease and the space will be professionally cleaned and all cooking equipment will be brand new."
Moon says she hopes to open Sundial Cafe by Feb. 1.

Help keep truly independent
local news alive!
As the year wraps up, we’re reminded — again — that independent local news doesn’t just magically appear. It exists because this community insists on having a watchdog, a megaphone and occasionally a thorn in someone’s side.
Over the past two years, you helped us regroup and get back to doing what we do best: reporting with heart, backbone, and zero corporate nonsense.
If you want to keep Eugene Weekly free and fearless… this is the moment.
