The Magic of Movie Music

From the classics of West Side Story and An Officer and a Gentleman to Titanic, The Lion King and even The Muppet Movie (we can only hope for “Rainbow Connection”), film’s most loved songs take the stage Feb. 27 at the Hult Center when the Eugene Concert Choir Presents: The Magic of Movie Music. Joining the choir at Silva Concert Hall are soprano Siri Vik, actor/singer Bill Hulings and pianist Vicki Brabham, who will lead an instrumental combo that includes guitarist Gerry Rempel. All three are mainstays of The Shedd, whose array of talent will blend nicely with the choir. “When I chose the program for The Magic of Movie Music, I chose it to specifically lift people’s spirits,” says Diane Retallack, artistic director and conductor of the choir. So let your spirit soar with “Love Lift Us Up Where We Belong” and “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” and reminisce about “The Circle of Life” with the Eugene Concert Choir.

The Eugene Concert Choir — with guests Siri Vik, Bill Hulings, Vicki Brabham and Gerry Rempel — presents The Magic of Movie Music 2:30 pm Sunday, Feb. 27 at the Hult Center. Tickets are $25 to $52 with senior and student discounts, and they can be purchased at EugeneConcertChoir.org or at the Hult Center box office.
