If you need to spruce up your home or garden with art this spring, Maude Kerns Art Center has you covered this Mother’s Day with the Marvelous Mother’s Day at Maude’s. The fundraiser for the nonprofit community center for the visual arts is hosting the first in a series of fundraisers on this day in place of its annual, more widely known fundraiser — Art and the Vineyard — which was canceled earlier this year. There is plenty for art enthusiasts to choose from. More than 35 local artists will display a wide variety of work for sale. There also is an “Art for Your Garden” area with spring plants from local nurseries, raffles for wine and gift baskets, “make and take” art projects for kids and adults as well as a Club Med Ceramic Sale and refreshments.    

The “Marvelous Mother’s Day at Maude’s” fundraiser for Maude Kerns Art Center is 11 am to 5 pm Sunday, May 8 at Maude Kerns Art Center, 1910 E. 15th Ave. $5 suggested donation. Gallery hours are 10 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Friday and noon to 4 pm on Saturday. — Dan Buckwalter
