• “Micro Housing: Making Affordable Housing More Affordable” is the topic at City Club of Eugene at noon Friday, July 10, at the Downtown Athletic Club, 999 Willamette St. Speakers include County Commissioner Pat Farr, Andy Heben of SquareOne Villages and Dan Hill of Arbor South Architecture. $5 for non-members. 

• The annual McKenzie River Clean Up begins at 8 am Saturday, July 11. Groups and individuals will spread out up and down the river, some checking the banks on foot, others wading the shoreline, others searching for trash from drift boats, kayaks and canoes. The McKenzie Watershed Council has a Facebook page with sign-up information or call 687-9076 or email coordinator@mckenziewc.org. A barbecue for volunteers will follow at Hendricks Bridge Wayside.

• The Bernie Sanders for President group has moved its meeting site to the Democratic Party of Lane County office at 224 W. 11th Ave. The group meets at 11 am every Saturday. Email jerrybe99@gmail.com for more information.

• The Nobel Peace Laureate Project is holding its annual awards gala from noon to 2 pm Saturday, July 18, at the Downtown Athletic Club, 999 Willamette Street. Honored will be the Rev.
